This is an old vid, but so often things hit you in a new way after you've grown for a while.

"The approach in CG is to layer things, here's the torso, now here's the arms, now here's the expressions... Nothing has any particular force to it. If you're conceiving of one pose that's expressive it ties it all together it helps you express what your trying to express rather than try to put it all in in separate stages.
