I just like this style, it's so simple. Makes me think of Mark Craste point about the simpler it is the easier it is to empathize and project with.

wow I've been not busy with this blog lately, course I did have heart surgery a few weeks ago (I had a hole in it (since birth) so it was working extra hard, now it's patched up and finds working a regular amount laughably easy.))

I love the simplicity, but aren't those a straight rip-off of the yellow minions from Despicable Me? Even the voices sound identical. Welcome back Alonso!

They might be, but I feel like I've seen this basic design floating around for at least 10 years now, feels like the common denominator of CG to me, just smooth a box with some extruded faces and you get something really similar. :)

Hi Alonso! Glad you're well and back!
That was a big thing for you and family! I think the rounded head echoes Homer Simpson (but surely his design echoes something else...) but it IS therefore an inherited and appealing style. Toon style in 3D is very appealing and I think it offers less restrictions to the animator. More potential for comic bounce...I mean stretch and squash....The end made me laugh! Nice!
